HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) - Najheir West ran for 288 yards and five touchdowns to lead Steel Valley to a 49-7 domination of defending champion Southern Columbia and the PIAA Class 2A championship on Saturday.

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound junior had only a dozen carries but scored on runs of 53, 5, 37, 60 and 60-yards while receiving excellent downfield blocking all afternoon.

Steel Valley's first touchdown came just 15 seconds into the game after a Southern Columbia fumble on the opening kickoff and a 27-yard run by Paris Ford, who also had a 15-yard rushing score.

Tigers' quarterback Stone Hollenbach hit Cameron Young with a 24-yard TD pass to tie the game at 7 with 7:01 left in the first quarter, but Southern Columbia was outscored 42-0 the rest of the way.
