Woman Shot & Killed, Vehicle Riddled With Bullets In East Hills

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a young woman was shot and killed in the East Hills on Monday night.

The shooting was reported just before 9:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Wilner Drive.

Officials found the 25-year-old victim - suffering from at least one gunshot wound - in a vehicle, which was riddled with bullet holes.

The driver's side window of the car was also shattered.

Officers performed CPR on the victim, but paramedics pronounced her dead a short time later.

Police say a man was spotted running from the scene. He is described as a black male with a thin build.

Family members have identified the woman as Myanne Hayes.

Her family says they have no idea what the motive could be because Hayes was a caring mother of three who stayed out of trouble.

Candles, balloons and stuffed animals are being placed outside of Hayes' home. Her aunt says Hayes' children, ages 3, 5 and 7, don't know that their mom is gone yet.

"I don't know what happened, nor do I care. Those babies are going to be crushed. She's one of those moms who came out here every day with her kids, make sure they have their shoes and coats. This was unnecessary," she said.

The family said they will hold a vigil at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
