The state has issued an air quality alert for the Pittsburgh area, saying clear, warm conditions will spike levels of a key smog component.
With the Fourth of July holiday just days away, there’s a lot of activities going on across the area this weekend, but forecasters are warning people to take it easy as it’s another hot and humid day with the chance for more thunderstorms.
The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day, but the Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange Air Quality Action Day.
Thunderstorms rolled through the area Sunday afternoon and evening prompting several watches and warnings to be issued for many counties across the region.
It’s a good old fashioned heat wave for the Pittsburgh area, over the next few days.
