A.J. Burnett pitched a one-hitter, Neil Walker drove in five runs and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat Chicago 5-0 on Tuesday night, hours after the Cubs traded ace Ryan Dempster.
Derrek Lee came through in his return from the disabled list as the Pirates looked to make it two in a row against the Chicago Cubs. Lee hit a go-ahead grand slam with two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the Bucs to a 7-5 victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Saturday afternoon.
Neil Walker hit a grand slam, Andrew McCutchen also homered and Kevin Correia pitched into the seventh inning Friday as the Pittsburgh Pirates opened the season under new manager Clint Hurdle with a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
