The National Weather Service will inspect damage today in Eighty Four, Washington County, after strong storms blew through the area on Thursday afternoon.
The day after storms moved through parts of the area, we are bracing for another round of gusty thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Downed trees and flooded roadways made for some hazardous conditions Sunday when strong storms battered the area. The storms were particularly bad just south and east of Pittsburgh.
The Sunday rain had been predicted, but even when it arrived, it seemed to come from out of nowhere. The storm brought lightning, thunder, heavy and fast rains and another round of flash flooding, trapping at least two people in a vehicle in East Carnegie.
This morning’s storm brought with it the area’s first significant rainfall since Friday’s deadly flash flooding; but with resources at the ready, crews kept a close watch on Washington Boulevard.
After several days of sunshine, some severe weather is moving across the area today bringing with it the possibility for heavy rain, high winds and lightning.
