Coming off a year in which he ran for 1,675 yards and 24 touchdowns on 277 carries and broke longstanding Pitt rushing records, running back James Conner has been named the ACC Player of the Year in the coaches vote.
Despite a year in which they finished the season with a mediocre record of 6-6, this season brought the Panthers a number of strong individual performances which have now been recognized on the All-ACC team.
The ACC honored a couple of Pitt players after the first week of play. Sophomore tailback James Conner named the conference Offensive Back of the Week and senior guard Matt Rotheram named the Offensive Lineman of the Week.
18 days of Fall Camp is over as Pitt football ended with a Thursday afternoon practice on the South Side. “Pretty good camp, I like the way the guys worked,” said head coach Paul Chryst. “We still have to be a group that continues to improve all season. I like where we’re at right now, relatively healthy.”
