Night of the Living Dead
Since 2008, fans of the movie “Night of the Living Dead” have flocked to the place where it all began 46 years ago in Evans City. The movie introduced the undead ghouls or zombies.
It’s the 45th anniversary of the cult classic, “Night of the Living Dead.” Russ Streiner as Johnny and Judith O’Dea as his sister, Barbara, returned to the Evans City cemetery where a scene was shot.
A low budget cult classic filmed in 1968 has earned Pittsburgh the title “Zombie Capital of the World.”
Forty-three years after the film was produced, Streiner’s brother, Gary, hopes to save a boarded-up graveyard chapel which appears in several scenes.
