Rainbows and good cheer were out in force Sunday as hundreds of thousands of people packed gay pride events from Chicago to New York City, where the governor officiated at a wedding, just days after the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling legalizing same-sex marriage.
Thousands showed their pride for the LGBT community in Pittsburgh Sunday during the annual “Pride in the Streets” parade.
Pittsburgh certainly has a lot of pride – pride in its history, its ineffable sports teams, and its bountiful, colorful LGBT community. June is LGBT Pride month, though every day is a celebration of love, understanding, and camaraderie in this flourishing community. Celebrate Pride this year by bouncing to one – or all – of the venues on this list, and show Pittsburgh what you really love about it – it’s unequivocal acceptance of everyone.
With family and friends looking on, 19 same-sex couples were united in matrimony during a ceremony in Pittsburgh City Council Chambers.
The Pittsburgh LGBT community will have a lot to celebrate at this year’s Pride.
The arts are already out and the food vendors are all that’s left to pack up after 10 days of the Arts Festival in Gateway Center and The Point.
Expect the city to be packed for the next few days. There are pride events all weekend, the Pirates are home and it’s the last weekend for the Arts Festival.
