Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Pittsburgh included more than just politicking. He also caught some of Saturday’s NCAA Tournament action at CONSOL Energy Center. But earlier in the day, he met with Sen. Bob Casey who is among the lawmakers fighting the planned closure of the 911th Airlift Wing.
Thousands put on their green and flocked to Downtown Pittsburgh Saturday to take in what’s billed as one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the country.
A standing room-only crowd of Pitt students and faculty warmly received Vice President Biden, as the Vice President told the students that he and the President stood with them on the issue of student loans.
The economy and getting people back to work were the main focuses of Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Pittsburgh on Friday. He arrived in town this morning and headed over to Oakland where he spoke in front of a crowd at Alumni Hall at the University of Pittsburgh. The Vice President is drumming up support for the President’s American Jobs Act, and part of the proposal deals with the re-payment of student loans.
Vice President Joe Biden is set to visit the city today where he will talk to a crowd on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. The Vice President is expected to speak about the economy and the American Jobs Act as well as the federal school loan assistance program.
