TALE OF THE TAPE

Week 2: Chicago Bears At Green Bay Packers

Bears
Packers
Divisional Playoffs - Seattle Seahawks v Chicago Bears
Green Bay Packers v San Diego Chargers
Quarterback
The Bears opened the season with a solid showing against Indianapolis, but now they must step it up against Green Bay. Jay Cutler is going to have to hit a couple of big passes early to show he can compete with Aaron Rodgers.
Winner The explosive Green Bay attack was not firing on all cylinders against San Francisco. Rodgers was struggling throughout the game and will want to turn it around against the Packers’ archrivals.
Offense
The Bears have high-quality receivers in Brandon Marshall and rookie Alshon Jeffrey. The versatility and talent of running back Matt Forte may be their best weapon.
Winner Rodgers has an array of outstanding receiving weapons who will be motivated to rebound in the second game of the season. Randall Cobb is quickly becoming one of Rodgers’ favorite receivers along with Jordy Nelson. Greg Jennings (knee) is questionable.
Defense
Winner The Bears still think of them as a powerful defensive team. Brian Urlacher has a balky knee, but Julius Peppers and Lance Briggs are still top of the line performers.
The Packers still have a long way to go on defense after the 49ers handled them in the opening game. On the positive side, linebacker Clay Matthews looks stronger and even more explosive than he has been in the past.
Special Teams
Winner The Bears pride themselves on special teams and Robbie Gould is one of the most consistent placekickers in the league. Devin Hester wants to punish Green Bay with his punt returns.
The Packers got an explosive punt return touchdown against the 49ers from Randall Cobb that probably should have been called back because of an illegal block in the back penalty that was called and later picked up. Mason Crosby is a consistent field goal kicker.

We'll Just Call it a Tie

Divisional Playoffs - Seattle Seahawks v Chicago Bears Green Bay Packers v San Diego Chargers

There’s a ton of pressure on the Packers not to start the season 0-2 at home. The Bears believe they have a chance to steal the NFC North title from the Packers and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. This would be a great time to start proving it.
