Best Pittsburgh Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving spent with family and friends is great, but there is a lot of work involved. A Thanksgiving meal with turkey, side dishes and desserts takes hours to cook. Add to that the stress of cleaning and arranging the house for guests, cleaning up after the meal and the endless weeks of leftovers and it can be a lot for anyone to handle. Why not enjoy your Thanksgiving meal out this year? Several Pittsburgh restaurants are offering both traditional and non-traditional Thanksgiving feasts this year, so gather up your loved ones and head out for dinner where the only requirement is enjoying each other's company.

Located in Monroeville, The Wooden Nickel Restaurant is open Thanksgiving day for dinner. Since time with your family is too important to spend waiting in a line for food, the restaurant will be offering plated dinners. You will receive an entire Thanksgiving feast delivered to your table with choice of either turkey or grilled Scottish salmon. Prices are $21.99 per person, or if you are a member Wooden Nickel's Royalty Loyalty club, the price is only $19.99. The price for children under the age of 10 is $10.99. Wooden Nickel will also offer house-made cranberry-infused vodka martinis and a selection of many desserts.

With beautiful sweeping views of the city, LeMont, located on Mount Washington, can be a great place to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, especially with out-of-town guests. LeMont will have seatings at noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for a Thanksgiving Day Feast Grand Buffet. The buffet has a variety of Thanksgiving favorites and something for everyone to enjoy. Prices are $36.95 per adult and $13.95 for children ages seven to 12. Children ages six and under eat for free. Reservations for LeMont's Thanksgiving Buffet can be made by phone.

Located in the Fairmont on Market Street in Pittsburgh, Habitat will start Thanksgiving Day by being open for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Brunch Buffet can be enjoyed between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and costs $65 per person. In similar fashion to last year, Habitat will again offer the best brunch in Pittsburgh in honor of the holiday.Utilizing the communal area of the restaurant including the communal table, an array of items which include omelet and carving stations as well as traditional breakfast and lunch favorites will be laid out, culminating in a dessert extravaganza. Featuring live music, Habitat is the place to celebrate the holiday with friends and family. For dinner, Habitat will offer the regular dinner menu and some Thanksgiving dinner specials. Regular seatings are between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The special Thanksgiving menu being offered is carved roast turkey breast, giblet gravy, stuffing, candied bourbon sweet potatoes, buttermilk mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds and cranberry sauce.  The meal also Includes a house salad or soup of the day and your choice of pumpkin or apple pie. The full meal is just $14.99 per person.

If you are looking for more casual dining, perhaps while enjoying  some entertainment at the casino, you can enjoy a Thanksgiving Day buffet at the food court.  The buffet features carved turkey breast, Virginia ham, giblet gravy, stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, buttermilk mashed potatoes, green bean and mushroom casserole, cranberry sauce, garden salad , rolls and apple pie and pumpkin pie.  The buffet is available for $8.
