If you've been training in the gym all winter, running outside in the spring sunshine probably seems like a dream come true. Here are some great races coming up in Pittsburgh where you can highlight all that hard cardio work and help to raise money for a good cause at the same time. If you're not a runner, you can just go to these races to cheer on the runners, enjoy additional activities or just walk the course. Either way, these races in Pittsburgh are a great way to get out and support local fundraising efforts.

The proceeds from the race benefit Izzie's Gifts of Hope, an organization which helps families affected by chronic illness to have enjoyable experiences.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. The event is stroller and family friendly, but it is asked that no dogs or bikes be present on the race course.

If you are looking for a fun evening run, the South Fayette Glow Run is a must to attend. Not only do you get to run at night in your glow in the dark gear, but the run also benefits a worthy cause: The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. Even if you're not a runner there is plenty to enjoy at the event such as a glow-in-the-dark obstacle course, moon bounce, dunk tank, and other games and raffles. Be sure to bring the entire family for this fun event.
