Police Arrest Suspect In McKees Rocks Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Allegheny County Police have taken a suspect into custody who was wanted in connection with a shooting that critically injured a man in McKees Rocks earlier this week.

Police identified Brandon Reynolds as a suspect in the gunfire that hit Andre Palmer.

Reynolds is facing several charges including firearms violations and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.

The shooting happened Tuesday evening on Amelia Street near the corner of Chartiers Avenue by the Bottom Dollar grocery store.

Police say Reynolds was inside the vehicle, possibly firing outside the car as others fired toward the car from the outside.

It's possible Palmer, 24, was shot accidentally by Reynolds.

"If you're just turning and firing, again, and the vehicle's bouncing on the curb, bouncing on objects, so it's not as if he would have a chance to like aim," Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk, of the Allegheny County Police said. "We would characterize it again as accidental, him shooting Palmer."

Palmer is in a local hospital and is expected to recover but has been blinded as a result of the shooting.

"He's suspected to survive his wounds; however, he is blind. He was blinded by this gunshot wound," added Lt. Korczyk.

Police say he has not been cooperative in their investigation.

Allegheny County Police ask anyone with information about the case to call them or your local police department.
