Sharpsburg Mom Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship Facing New Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 45-year-old Sharpsburg woman will have her day in court to face several charges, all related to her alleged sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

KDKA's Brenda Waters found out today that Susan Sundo also faces new charges.

Just before her preliminary hearing, the married mother of three faced charges of theft – almost $5,000 that belonged to the Aspinwall Youth Athletic Association.

One of the softball coaches for the athletic association was checking out the field when KDKA approached him about the $4,886.44 that Sundo is accused of stealing.

"It nearly broke us," Harry McGreevy says. "We had to do fundraising to put money back into the organization."

According to the criminal complaint, Sundo - a member of the athletic association - was given a debit card to buy hot dogs, sodas, candy and other items for the concession stand; instead, the card was allegedly used when the concession stand was closed.

In January, investigators say it was used to pay a wireless phone bill for nearly $500 and a Duquesne Light bill for more than $600.

"Disgusting," McGreevy said. "It's disgusting how an organization set up for kids, an adult can take advantage of it that way."

Meantime, Sundo will stand trial for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

The minor was the only person to take the stand during the preliminary hearing where he talked about alleged explicit text messages from Sundo, and how the two of them had a sexual relationship for several months.

The minor says he was best friends with Sundo's son.

"The main thing she is concerned about is how this is affecting her family. She has children. It is difficult for her," Sundo's attorney, David J. Shrager, says. "Sometimes kids at school can be cruel. She is concerned with their well being."

While in jail, Sundo underwent a mental evaluation which her attorney says she passed.
