Parents Jailed After Toddler Found Wandering Alone On Busy Road

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) – One any given day, there is a lot of traffic on 24th Street in Beaver Falls.

Imagine a toddler trying to maneuver along there – alone.

Police say that's exactly what happened there last month.

The child's parents were arrested and taken to the Beaver County Jail.

CYS was called in for the child.

Police say 23-year-old Crystal Moore and 29-year-old Tyler Holt were found inside their apartment on Seventh Avenue on the couch watching television.

According to police, the parents told them the child was playing in the backyard alone, but someone said the 18-month-old walked out of the yard, through the alley, around the corner and up the street.

It was two kids on bikes in the neighborhood who showed police where the child lived.

Moore allegedly jumped off the couch and said to Holt, "You were supposed to be watching him."

Moore, who investigators say is pregnant, reportedly told police they could not arrest her because she is taking prescription medication.

However, both parents were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.

Moore was released from jail a few days ago after posting a $500 cash bond.

Hold remains behind bars on a $10,000 bond.
