The road is closed between Presto-Sygan and Forsythe roads as crews remove debris and complete repairs. Traffic is being detoured.

The water has been shut off, leaving behind a massive sinkhole.

Witnesses said the geyser could be seen from Interstate 79.

"It's just amazing that water has that much power," Presto resident Gerard Mahon said.

Approximately 60 customers are still impacted because of low or no water pressure.

Officials expect normal service will be restored Wednesday night.

A water tanker will be available at the Presto Volunteer Fire Department at 5228 Thoms Run Road.

About six weeks ago, a water main break happened on the same road.

The 30-inch main that bust back in December is the same line that burst on Tuesday, Penn American Water said.

The Chartiers Valley School District said the break will impact bus routes in the morning, but the schools all have water.

Al students who catch the bus in Presto, including buses 40, 52, 56, and 44, should wait for the bus at either the Mt. Lebanon Awning Company or at the lot at Thoms Run Road and Boyds Run Road.

Several other routes may be delayed due to the detour.
