Man Facing Charges In Delivery Driver Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One man was arrested and charged with robbing shooting a pizza delivery driver in Allentown Wednesday morning.

According to emergency dispatchers, the incident happened on Daytona Street in Allentown around midnight on Wednesday.

The driver was shot in the leg and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment. The injury was not considered to be life-threatening.

On Thursday morning, Zone 3 officers observed two black males walking on Brownsville Road. One of the men fit the description of the one given for the suspect in the shooting.

As officers approached the two men, one fled on foot. Police caught up to him and arrested him near the intersection of Matthews Avenue and Roll Way around 12:30 a.m.

The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Evan Michael Andrews.

Police found 18 stamped bags of suspected heroin and marijuana in his possession at the time of the arrest.

He was taken to police headquarters to be questioned as a person of interest in the Allentown shooting.

After questioning, he was arrested and charged with the robbery and shooting. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and is facing numerous charges including, aggravated assault, robbery and recklessly endangering another person.
