Surveillance Video Released From 7-Eleven Robbery

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Police have released surveillance video of a local convenience store being robbed.

According to police, a masked man robbed the 7-Eleven on Thompson Run Road around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Newly released surveillance video shows a lone masked gunman walk into the store.

Initially, there's no employees around. He finds the clerk back in a cooler and summons him to the front of the store.

The clerk cooperates as the gunman is pointing his firearm at him during the entire exchange.

"He just made verbal indication that he was there to rob the store and that this was not a joke or a prank," Ross Township Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp said.

The clerk complied with the robber's requests and handed over an unknown amount of cash.

"The clerk did [well]. These large chains and these stores train their people in how to respond and how to react in the event there is an armed robbery or other dangerous situation. And he was excellent, remained calm and followed the instructions," Detective Kohlhepp said.

The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous and anyone with information is asked to call police.
