Hines Ward Talks 'Dancing' In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Steelers Wide Receiver Hines Ward says he had no idea what he was getting himself into when he signed on to this season's "Dancing With the Stars."

But he says the reality competition has been one of the highlights of his career.

Ward was in Pittsburgh on Thursday to accept an award at the annual Art Rooney Awards Dinner at the Westin Convention Center. He brought his dance partner, Kym Johnson, with him.

The pair was busy practicing before the ceremony.

"It's a big night for me, a huge honor. What better way to bring Kym to the city of Pittsburgh and introduce her to all the Steeler Nation," he told KDKA's Kym Gable.

Johnson added, "Last Monday night was so great with your mom and son in the audience and then we wore the colors, black and gold and everyone waved the (terrible) towels, so nice to see!"

As Ward gears up for the next round of competition on Monday, he says he's putting in the same attitude and work ethic that he does on the football field.
