UPMC is totally and completely incompetent at providing health care and should be broken up plain and simple. The only reason you don’t see it much on the internet is because their lawyers work to scrub any negative comments that are made.

There is a REASON why the first form you are required to sign is a statement that you will agree to arbitration before suing!!! They would get sued on a daily basis without it. They take you to their rigged arbitration where they offer you a small settlement in exchange for keeping your mouth shut about their lousy coverage. THEN if you have an emergency and need to go back (many of us in small towns have NO other choice) They will REFUSE care!!!

Let’s see – UPMC charges you for health insurance = INCOME.
UPMC provides your care in their hospital = OUTGO.

Therefore, to maximize profit (INCOME), they must minimize care (OUTGO).

Conclusion – I don’t think I want anything to do with either their coverage or their hospitals.
