Police Searching For Sexual Assault Suspect

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Police in Ross Township are investigating another report of a sexual assault this morning.

Emergency dispatchers have confirmed that police have been searching the area around the Cascade Apartments after a woman reported that a man with a gun assaulted her shortly before 7 a.m.

The suspect is described as an African-American man wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored gloves.

At this point, it’s not yet clear if officials believe the incident may be connected to a similar report at another Ross Township apartment complex over the weekend.

A woman told police that a man with a gun approached her outside her apartment at The Woodhawk Club around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The woman told police that the man forced her back into her apartment where he assaulted her.

Police are still looking for a suspect in that case. He is described as an African American male in his mid-40s. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, dark-blue jeans and either a ski mask or knit cap.

Anyone with information on either case is urged to call the Ross Township Police Department at 412-931-9070.
