Man Arrested After 6-Year-Old Boy Goes Missing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A neighbor who lives down the road from a 6-year-old boy who was the subject of an amber alert over the weekend, now faces charges including kidnapping and rape.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Stefani Plume says 45-year-old Brian Timothy Lynch, along with a 17-year-old, whose identity is known to police, first took the boy from his front yard in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County to the suspect's home down the road.

Then the group went to a nearby ice cream shop just across the Somerset County line in Confluence.

And from there, they stopped in Unity Township, then ended up in a park in Latrobe, Westmoreland County.

Eventually the boy was sexually assaulted in the back of a car, and left alone in a park, where he was discovered by police in the middle of the night.

"Following the assault, the actor then took him to that park and dropped him off -- the boy was alone in the park, " said Plume.

"The actor has since admitted that is what happened," Plume said.

The investigation isn't finished though. Police say they have questions for the 17-year-old as well.

"The troopers are still conducting interviews," she said. "They were not able to speak with the 17 year old yesterday, but are talking with him today. And we should know soon whether anything comes from that subsequent interview."
